A native of Huntingdon, Que., but for many years a resident of this district, John Sterling died at 109 Wentworth street, Hamilton, on Wednesday, April 11, 1923, aged 76 years and 7 months. On coming here, Mr. Sterling built a home on Mountain View road, east of The Thirty, but several years ago the family removed to Beamsville. For some years past he has had a winter home in Hamilton and it was there that he died. Surviving are Mrs. Sterling, four sons and four daughters: Harvey W. of Humboldt, Sask.; J. Albert, of Lake Lenore, Sask.; Charles A. of Beamsville; Stanley of Niagara Falls, Ont.; Mrs. William Jones and Miss Ethel Sterling of Hanna, Alta.; Miss Myrtle and Miss Pearl at home. The remains were brought to his Beamsville home, and on Sunday, April 15, the funeral took place to the Disciples Church, where the Rev. L.J. Keffer conducted funeral service, thence to Queen's Lawn Cemetery for interment.
