Full Text

For nearly 40 years a resident of Beamsville and for the past 3 years of Grimsby, Thomas J. Corcoran, aged 76 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alex. Earle, Grimsby Mountain Brow, on Thursday, March 22, 1923, and was buried in Mount Osborne Cemetery, Beamsville, on Saturday, March 24. Mr. Corcoran was born in St. John's, Nfld., but in early life moved to the United States where he learned the stone cutting business. When the second Welland Canal was being built he came to St. Catharines and worked on the construction of the locks, later removing to Beamsville to the Gibson Quarry. Three years ago, on account of failing health, he came to Grimsby to reside with his daughter. He was of a retiring disposition and took no active part in politics, but was a kind and indulgent husband and father. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alex. Earle, Grimsby, and Miss Ethel Corcoran of Beamsville.
