Toronto Globe, Wednesday, Feb. 14 - Late last evening, after a long day in which hope and fear alternated at her bedside, Marie, the wife of Andrew D. Clarke, news editor of The Globe, "fell asleep". The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mullan of Toronto, and was in her 35th year. Last week in good health, she was stricken along with her two small children with the prevailing influenza. In her anxious mother's attendance on the little ones, she neglected precautions for herself, and on Sunday pneumonia developed. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband and two young children, Marie and "Buddy". The funeral took place on Friday to Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The floral tributes were many and beautiful and attested to the high esteem in which the deceased and her husband were held by a great legion of relatives, friends and men in public life. Mr. Clarke is a former Grimsby boy, a son of Mrs. George Clarke, John Street, and a brother of Mrs. W.F. Randall.
