John M. Snyder, for 22 years postmaster of St. Anns, on Saturday celebrated his 80th birthday. He had conducted a grocery store in the village for 48 years, and was assistant postmaster until 1913 when he became postmaster. He held this position until he resigned in 1935. Mr. Snyder is a descendant of Ann Snyder, after whom the village is named. He takes an active interest in gardening and is an ardent fan of the St. Ann's ball club. Mrs. W. Peterson and Mrs. Ernest Wilcox, of Grimsby, are nieces of Mr. Snyder.
