Full Text

St. Catharines Journal - The death occurred at the General and Marine Hospital Thursday afternoon of Mr. John House of Port Dalhousie. The deceased was born in England 84 years ago, coming to Canada when a mere child. During his useful life he followed the occupation of ship-carpenter and had filled his duties as such in Port Dalhousie for the past 58 years. The late Mr. House, who was a war veteran of 1866, was very popular, and noted at all times for his kindly and agreeable disposition, being ready at all times to lend a helping hand to offer advice, that always led to good causes. Not only will he be missed keenly in Port Dalhousie, but throughout the entire community.
