Full Text

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hand, Clarke Street East, Grimsby, was sadly afflicted Saturday evening, Dec. 18th, when the Grim Reaper Death entered and snatched away the bright young life of their third son, Phillip Hand, 10 years old. The boy had been sick a few days with quinsey or croup and Saturday the disease developed into such dangerous proportions that the attending physician, Dr. Smith, called Dr. Buck in consultation, later Mr. McLay was called and an operation performed but it was too late and the boy passed away shortly after the operation was performed. The funeral took place on Monday morning to St. Joseph's Church, where service and burial was held. The sympathy of a large circle of friends goes out to the bereaved parents and brothers and sisters.
