Full Text

Widespread regret will be felt in the different sections of the district at the announcement of the death of Mrs. Hugh Bertram, at Vinemount, on Sunday, May 21. Mrs. Bertram, who was in her 78th year, had been up to a few days before her death in excellent health, and it was only a few hours prior to her passing away that her condition was considered serious. Mrs. Bertram, prior to her marriage, was Miss Mary White. She with her husband and family came to Saltfleet in 1891, direct from Scotland, and settled on the Jardine farm. During her residence in this country she made a host of friends, and by her lovable and sweet disposition endeared herself to all those who had the privilege of her acquaintance. Besides her aged husband, she is survived by a family of two sons, ex-Warden Hugh Bertram Jr. and James Bertram of Vinemount, and three daughters, Misses Bell and Helen at home, and Mrs. Roy Young of Kimmins, Ontario.
