Word was received in Grimsby on Wednesday, April 9, of the death that day in Kelowna, B.C. of Robert Evelyn Denison, well known and respected by many in Grimsby and vicinity. Mr. Denison was born in Toronto in 1858, the son of the late Col. R.B. Denison, D.A.G., and Emily Winn, and was educated in that city, later taking up banking as a business. For some years he owned a private bank at Niagara-on-the-Lake, and came to Grimsby about 25 years ago, purchasing the Brown property east of Grimsby. In 1912 he removed to Kelowna, and at the time of his death was secretary- treasurer of Stirling & Pitcairn, a large fruit packing and shipping firm of the Okanagan valley. To mourn his loss are his widow, three daughters: Mrs. W. Goldring of The Thirty, Dorothy of Vancouver and Margaret at home; two brothers, Reginald of Oakville, Ont., Napier of Victoria, B.C.; and one sister, Miss E. Denison at present in Cornwall, England. The remains were brought to Toronto on Tuesday, and interment takes place in the family plot at St. Johns cemetery on the Humber today (Wednesday).
