Edwin Wilson, life long resident of Grimsby, died at the Western Hospital, Toronto, on Thursday, April 20, 1922, aged 76 years. He was born in Grimsby in 1846, son of William Wilson and Margaret Book. William Wilson had three grist mills in Grimsby at different times and the late Edwin Wilson worked in his father's mills for a number of years. He married in [illegible] Margaret S. VanDyke who died in 1900. Mr. Wilson was long a member of the L.O.A. and Scarlet [illegible] and in 1883 became a member of Union Lodge No. 7, A.F. & A.M. The following year he joined the Grimsby chapter No. 69, R.A.M., and at the time of his death was the third oldest member of the Masons in the [illegible] lodge. He leaves to mourn his demise two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Schwab and Mrs. Arthur Hayhoe of Grimsby and a son, George H. Wilson of Toronto. The remains were brought to Grimsby via G.T.R. on Saturday evening and the funeral took place on Sunday afternoon April 23 to Queen's Lawn Cemetery under Masonic auspices, the Rev. L.H. Currie of St. Johns Presbyterian conducting the church services. The pallbearers were six brother Masons, H. Bromley, J.H. Forman, J.H. Gibson, R.A. Hunter, T.R. Hunter and D. Walker.
