Beamsville, April 8 - In his 69th year, John Crown, the veteran caretaker of the public school, passed to his rest on Wednesday evening. The funeral was held Friday afternoon with a service at the Methodist Church of which deceased was ever a prominent and influential member. The flag on the school staff was lowered to half mast and the children given a half holiday in order that they might attend the obsequies of their old friend, who always took the part of a paternal guardian over them and listened to their joy and woes. His widow, son and daughter and four brothers survive him.
