The death took place on Thursday, July 14, 1921, at his home on the Thirty Mountain, North Grimsby, of W. Frank Hurst, late road commissioner for the eastern division. On Thursday of the previous week, while working in the field, he felt that the heat was getting the better of him, and came to the house, and in the middle of the afternoon he collapsed. He seemed to be recovering but about 6 o'clock on Thursday evening death came without warning. Mr. Hurst was born in North Grimsby in 1871, and had resided there all his life. He was the second son of the late Richard Alfred Hurst and Elizabeth Bell, and married in 1899 Margaret (Maggie) Reves, [sic] (should be Reeves)who survives. Other survivors are two daughters and one son, Mrs. Verne Barrick of Burnaby; Irene and Master Frank at home; and two brothers and one sister, A.H. Hurst of Clinton; Harvey A. of Grimsby and Mrs. Thomas A. Pearson of Grimsby. The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place on Sunday, July 17, from his late home to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, the large car cortege and the many floral offerings showing the regard held for the deceased. The pallbearers were the members of the North Grimsby Council and the road commissioner for the western division: William Mitchell, Reeve; M.B. Smith, George Douglas, W.H. VanDuzer and John Hunter, Councillors, and Stewart Walker. The Rev. A.E. Quinn, in charge of the Thirty Union congregation preached a feeling sermon at the house, and officiated at the graveside...
