A respected resident of Grimsby, Mrs. Samuel H. Vaughan, died at the home of her son, Clayton E. Vaughan, 21 John Street North, Hamilton, on Friday, April 1, 1921. The late Mrs. Vaughan was Lydia Ellen Upper of St. Ann's, where she lived until coming to Grimsby some 20 years ago. Her husband predeceased her some years ago, and there remain three sons and four brothers: Arthur O. Vaughan of Grimsby, Clayton E. of Hamilton and Fred D. Vaughan of Grimsby; Richard Upper of St. Catharines, Jacob, William and Walter Upper of St. Ann's. The funeral took place on Monday, April 4 from Hamilton to the Methodist Church at Grimsby where services were held, interment being in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
