The death occurred on Friday, February 25, 1921 of Amos Pyett, after a lingering illness of over two years, at the home of his son, Allan, in North Grimsby. Mr. Pyett was born in Caistor Township in 1858, the second son of Aaron and Mrs. Pyett, and had spent practically all his life in Caistor and North Grimsby Townships. About 8 years ago he moved to the Northwest, but returned here some two years ago and has been in failing health since. He tried the West again and also went to Nebraska for a time, but continued to fail until his death. The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place on Monday, Feb. 28 to the Baptist Cemetery at Abingdon, the Rev. T. Ratcliffe conducting the services at the house and the Baptist minister at Abingdon officiated at the grave. Surviving Mr. Pyett are his widow, three brothers, Benjamin of North Grimsby, John of Caistor and Isaiah of South Grimsby; five sons and five daughters, Haney of Melfort, Sask., Allan of North Grimsby, John, Irvine and Vern of Melfort, Mrs. John Kreahling of Melfort, Mrs. Ward Clemmo of Bethany, Nebraska, Mrs. R.R. Golden of Beamsville, Beulah of Melfort and Vera of South Grimsby.
