Killed almost instantly by a T. H. & B. eastern flyer on the railway crossing about a mile east of Silverdale station around noon on Saturday, Isaac Jarvis, a lifelong resident of Clinton township, was badly cut about the head. The buggy was smashed, but the horse escaped. Mr. Jarvis, who was in his 85th year, was going from his home to a friend's in Gainsboro township for dinner and to spend the afternoon when the accident occurred. Deceased was prominent in the political and municipal life of the township for nearly 50 years, was an active worker for the Conservative party, and always interested in the welfare of agricultural societies and good horses. Fro a number of years he was a License Commissioner for Lincoln County. His wife predeceased him some years ago.
