Full Text

Beamsville, Jan. 17 - A well-known figure in the life of the township and village for nearly half a century, in the person of George Robertson, passed away yesterday at his daughter's home in St. Catharines, at the age of 82 years. He was a blacksmith by trade, and was born in the land of heath and heather, and during his almost life-time residence here, lost none of the traditions of the old school. For the past couple of years he had not been in his usual health. Three sons, Peter, county of Lincoln road superintendent; David and George of Peterboro, and two daughters survive. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Seymour, William Street.
