After a prolonged illness, the death occurred in Brockville recently of Ralph R. Pelton, since 1903 editor and proprietor of the St. Lawrence News, a weekly newpaper published at Iroquois. Mr. Pelton was born at Innerkip, Ont., and began his journalistic career in the office at Woodstock Sentinel-Review. He was successively connected with the Brussels Post, Blyth Standard, Deseronto Tribune, Atwod (sp?) Bee (which he established), the Paris Review and the St. Lawrence News.He was a strong temperance worker. His wife and three daughters survive. For a couple years Mr. Pelton and family were residents of Grimsby, owning and operating the fruit farm now owned by L.A. Wade.
