St. Catharines, Sept. 6 - Dr. John Henry Comfort, oldest medical man in Niagara district, is dead at the age of 93. He was born at Niagara-on-the-Lake and spent all or nearly a century of life in that town and St. Catharines. He had a very large practice at one time, but dropped it years ago when he was appointed police magistrate for St. Catharines. He held the position up to a dozen years ago, when deafness compelled him to give it up. Since then he had lived retired with his daughter at Port Dalhousie, his principal occupation being fishing for sport. He was an authority on fishing and made his last catch of perch off the piers only a few weeks ago. His wife died some years ago. He was a genial, kindly man, greatly esteemed by hundreds whom he had helped.
