Full Text

One of the oldest and respected of residents passed away on Wednesday afternoon, April 28th, in the person of Abram Honsberger, at the family residence in Jordan. The deceased was a well known retired farmer and fruitgrower of this district, where he was born and lived all his life. The late Mr. Honsberger was of a quiet disposition, but his advice in matters pertaining to farming was always sought by his many admirers. The deceased, who had always enjoyed vigorous health until a few weeks ago, was taken sick, and in spite of the tender nursing and untiring efforts of his three daughters who were with their father to the last, succumbed at the age of 77 years and 8 months. The late Mr. Honsberger's wife predeceased him nearly three years ago, having been accidentally killed by an automobile in Jordan. Three daughters, Mrs. H. Jackson, Toronto; Mrs. A. Honsberger, Vineland; and Mrs. G. Doig, Buffalo, and two sons, Abner of Jordan Station, and Otto of California survive to mourn the loss of a kind and devoted father. The funeral service was held on Friday.
