One of Grimsby's finest young men passed to his heavenly home on Sunday morning last, in the person of Norman Shafer, second son of Conrad and Mrs. Shafer, Murray St. The deceased young man was only 27 years of age, and had been a resident of Grimsby since a small boy, coming her with his parents from Kitchener about 15 years ago. He was of a quiet but kindly disposition and was well and favorably liked by all with whom he came in contact. For several weeks past he has been in ailing health and gradually grew weaker until Sunday morning when the spark of life fled. He was a member of the 44th Regiment band, the Royal Arch Masons and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents, five brothers and one sister. The funeral is taking place this afternoon to Queen's Lawn Cemetery with Masonic Honors.
