Smithville Review - The many friends of Mr. Cecil E. Patterson were greatly shocked on Thursday morning last to learn of his death, which took place at 3 a.m. on that day. The previous day's reports were to the effect that he was progressing quite favorably and that all would be well with him in a short time, but at about midnight, he took a decided change, passing away three hours later. Cecil E. Patterson was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Patterson, born at Blackheath, Haldimand County. He was united in marriage in 1912 to Miss Marion Ruie Turner, second daughter of A.S. and Mrs. Turner, of Ryckman's Corners. Two daughters, Marie and Marjorie, with his sorrowing widow, are left to mourn his demise. His parents, two brothers, Mr. Arnott Patterson, of the high school teaching staff, of Toronto, and Mr. Wray, at home, one sister, Miss Hassie Paterson [sic], trained nurse, of Denver, Colorado, are also left to mourn the loss of a loving son and brother.
