Full Text

There passed away on Tuesday morning at the family residence, 67 Queenston St., St. Catharines, Martha Alice, beloved wife of Wesley Nelson, at the age of 61 years. Deceased had been in poor health for a considerable time, having never recovered after the death of her two sons, Chas. and Stanley Nelson, who were both killed on active service during the great war. A short time ago a stroke of paralysis developed, and although every kindness was shown with the best of medical care in attendance, she passed away. She was born in Gainsboro Township and came to St. Catharines about 18 years ago, where since her arrival she has made many warm friends. In religion she was a Methodist. Besides her sorrowing husband, she is survived by three daughters and three sons, Mrs. William Patterson, St. John's, Ontario; Mrs. Andrew Hill, Grimsby; Mrs. Raymond Varcoe, St. Catharines; Palmer Nelson, Beaverdams; Norris and Harry Nelson, St. Catharines. One sister, Mrs. Mary Harman, of St. John's, and one brother, Palmer Mingle, of St, Catharines, also survive.
