The death occurred Friday evening at Beamsville of a well known and respected resident in Miss Julia M. Hoey following an illness of but a short time from pneumonia. Miss Hoey was progressing very favorably when her heart gave out and although everything possible was done, passed peacefully away. She was a devoted member of Grimsby R.C. Church, where she will be greatly missed. She leaves to mourn her demise three sorrowing sisters, Mrs. Agnes Oppelt of Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Hazel Elwell and Mrs. Rose Hammond of New York City. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon on the arrival of the 8:45 G.T.R. train at Merritton to Our Church of the Holy Rosary at Thorold, where requiem high mass was chanted at 10 o'clock, then to Lakeview Cemetery.
