Full Text

The death occurred in Hamilton on Saturday morning last of John Wesley, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Konkle of Grimsby, is his 32nd year. The deceased man had been ill only a short time but it was of serious enough nature to have him removed to the General Hospital, where he passed away. The deceased was born in Grimsby and spent his boyhood days here, going to Hamilton several years ago. He was a fine built, clear headed young fellow, and at the time of the Cobalt boom was considered one of the best men in the North Country on the subject of prospecting, mines and mining. His wife predeceased him by about six weeks, and no doubt worry over her death caused his illness to be more severe than it would have been under normal conditions. He leaves three small children to mourn his loss. The funeral took place from the home of his parents on Monday afternoon to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, and was largely attended. Rev. L.H. Currie officiated.
