WISMER-HIGH - On February 15th, 1866 Miss Susan High to Mr. Solomon Wismer. Just 50 years ago the above took place and on Tuesday evening of this week the 50th anniversary of the marriage contract was celebrated at the home of the "Happy young couple". During the evening a large crowd of relatives gathered at the house and at 7 o'clock sat down to a Wedding Breakfast... It was a very large family gathering for the occasion and included the four children: Mr. Rolland Wismer of Grimsby; Mrs. A.E. Phipps, Mrs. W.P.S. Millward, Grimsby, and Mrs. A.E. Snyder of Cowley, Alta., 18 grandchildren, 12 nephews and nieces and many cousins. None of Mrs. Wismer's family are now alive, she being the last of her family. Four of Mr. Wismer's sisters were present, they being Mrs. James A. Hewitt, Beamsville; Mrs. A. Ryckman, Burlington; Mrs. Paradise of Buffalo, and Mrs. Chas. Phillips of Grimsby...
