Description
Full Text

The many friends of Mrs. W.D. Kitchen were greatly shocked on Tuesday evening, Jan. 18, to learn of her rather sudden death at the home of her son, Mr. Edgar Kitchen, North Grimsby. The late Mrs. Kitchen had reached a very advanced age, being in her 88th year, yet she enjoyed such excellent health up to within a few days of her demise that the news of her passing away came as a great shock to her friends. The deceased lady, with her husband, the late W.D. Kitchen, had been a lifelong resident of this district and for over half a century had resided on the homestead where they both passed away. Both Mrs. Kitchen and her late husband were remarkable for their social and genial qualities and were known and admired by a very large circle of friends. They were lifelong members of the Methodist Church and were always first and foremost in both giving and working. She is survived by one son, Edgar W., with whom she lived. The funeral will take place on Friday, Jan. 21, to Queen's Lawn Cemetery at 2:30 in the afternoon. Service at the house.
