Full Text

In the great drive of the Allies on Sept. 25, to force the Germans off French soil, Capt. Allston Flagg, son of G.A. Flagg, now of Portsmouth, Ohio, but formerly a resident of Winona some 13 years, gave his life as a gallant soldier in upholding the best traditions of the British Empire... Allston Flagg was born in Shoeburyness, England, and coming to Canada entered the Royal Military College at Kingston at the age of 17...Captain Flagg was well known in Grimsby and Winona, and his many friends will regret to learn of his untimely death.
