The oldest person in North Grimsby and probably in the County of Lincoln passed away at the residence of Dr. Clark, Grimsby, on Friday, Oct. 22, in the person of Miss Margaret Hare. Miss Hare had reached the extreme old age of nearly 99 and although she gradually grew weaker towards the last, she retained excellent health up until the time of her death. The deceased lady was the only daughter in a family of ten and was born on what is now the Experimental Farm, near Vineland, and was the daughter of the late Colonel Peter Hare, Paymaster to the Indians for the British government. For the past 48 years she has resided in Grimsby with her brother, Walter W. Hare, and later with his widow, Mrs. Hare, and her niece, Mrs. Clark. The funeral took place on Monday, Oct. 25, to St. Andrew's Church Cemetery.
