Mr. Andrew Hewson, a resident of Grimsby for nearly 40 years, passed away at his home on Ontario St., on Wednesday, September 29, in his 62nd year. The deceased gentleman had been in poor health for over two years but was able to be out around town, and was up on the main street as usual on the afternoon previous to his death. A sudden attack of heart failure shortly after he retired to rest carried him off in a few minutes. The late Andrew Hewson was born in the Township of Caistor and was a son of the late Thos. Hewson, for many years a resident of that township. He followed the occupation of farming in his early life but over 35 years ago came to Grimsby and has resided here continuously ever since. He is survived by his widow, two brothers, John on the homestead in Caistor and Benjamin at Welland; two sisters, Mrs. John James of Hamilton and Mrs. W. Clark of Fonthill; three sons, Arthur and Henry of Grimsby and John of Goderich; four daughters, Mrs. J.S. White of Tillsonburg, Mrs. F. Soper, formerly of Amherstburg but now of St. Catharines, Mrs. W. Tobin, Grimsby and Mrs. Thos. Voygt of Grimsby. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Service was conducted at the house and grave by Rev. Mr. Ratcliffe, pastor of the Grimsby Baptist Church. Interment took place at Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
