Mr. Jos. Singer, eldest son of the late Eli Singer, of Grimsby, died at his home at the Thirty Mountain, on Tuesday evening, Sept. 28, in his 50th year. The late Jos. Singer was a resident of this part of the country all his life and was a quiet and highly respected man. For the past year he has been in poor health and his death was not unexpected. His four brothers, James, Cyrus, John and Harmon, all old Grimsby boys and well known in this locality, arrived here on Monday to see their brother before his passing, as his death was then hourly expected. The deceased gentleman is survived by his wife, his mother, three [sic] brothers, four sisters, Mrs. Piper of Canboro, Mrs.Robt. Land of Grimsby, Mrs. H. Brown of Fonthill and Mrs. Forester of Jordan; two daughters, Miss Hazel at home and Mrs. Vernal Groff of Winona. The funeral will take place from his late residence on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, to Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
