Mr. David Mitchell, a lifelong resident of the township of Saltfleet, and father of ex-reeve Mitchell, of Grimsby, passed away at the home of his son in Grimsby, on Friday, Sept. 3. The deceased gentleman had lived in the township of Saltfleet all his life, following an occupation of farming, north of Stoney Creek. Becoming very feeble, a few months previous to his death, he came to live with his son, William, in Grimsby. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Service was conducted at the house by Rev. Dr. Ross, of the Methodist Church, Grimsby. Interment took place at Stoney Creek, where service was conducted by Mr. McGilvary of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Hamilton. The deceased gentleman had reached the ripe old age of nearly 86 years and is survived by two sons, William of Grimsby, and James of the Customs Department, Hamilton.
