The sympathy of this community is being extended to R.C. McKay and family in their recent bereavement of a beloved wife and mother and seldom has a section been called upon to mourn more deeply the loss of a true friend, a true patriot, a true church and institute worker and a true Christian woman. Mrs. McKay was first vice president of the Winona Women's Institute at its organization in 1905. The following year she was elected president and continued as one of the various officers of that institution until her death. She was elected president in 1914 and in November attended a meeting at the home of Mrs. A.B. Foran, which proved to be the last meeting in which she took part, previous to her illness. Besides her husband, R.C. McKay, she leaves to mourn her loss three sons and two daughters - Kenneth at home, Anley and Vivian of the Bell Telephone Company, and Florence and Yvonne at home. The service was conducted on the lawn by Rev. Mr. Noxon of St. John's church and an immense concourse of people turned out to pay their last respects...
