The many friends of Mrs. Jas. C. Marlatt in Grimsby, Beamsville and vicinity learned with regret of her death after several weeks' illness, on Tuesday, June 29, 1915, at her home on Depot Street, Grimsby. The deceased lady was born in Devonshire, England, and was a daughter of the late John Frost, who resided for many years in North Grimsby, just east of Grimsby Beach. The late Mrs. Marlatt was a child of six weeks old when her father and mother left Devonshire and started for Canada to make his home in the woods. He located two miles east of Grimsby and for over half a century was one of North Grimsby's prosperous and highly esteemed farmers. Elizabeth, the eldest of the family, was married about 35 years ago to Mr. J.C. Marlatt of Beamsville. For the first 12 years of their married life, they resided in Beamsville, when they moved to Grimsby and have resided for 23 years in this town. The deceased was of a very genial , kindly disposition, and was a general favorite with all who knew her. She was an earnest member of the Methodist Church and was always ready to lend a helping hand in all good work. She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. H.S. Garlick, of Toronto, Miss Margaret of Toronto and Miss Gertrude at home; two sons, J. Bertram and J. Lloyd of Grimsby; three sisters, Mrs. R.G. Hagar and Mrs. S. Wismer of North Grimsby, and Mrs. Frank Culp of Beamsville and one brother, Daniel, of Fenwick. The funeral will take place from her late residence on Thursday, July 1 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Rev. Dr. Ross of the Methodist Church officiating.

Marlatt - In Grimsby, on Tuesday, June 29, 1915, Elizabeth Frost, beloved wife of J.C. Marlatt, in her 59th year. The funeral will take place from her late residence on Depot St., Grimsby, to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, on Thursday, July 1, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
