A marriage of more than passing interest took place in St. Andrew's Church on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27 at 3 o'clock, when Miss Ruby, daughter of Mrs. John Chambers, John Street, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. Chas. F. McCarthy, son of Chas. McCarthy of Hamilton. Rev. J. Allan Ballard tied the nuptial knot. "Charlie" is Sergt.-Major of "H" Co., 44th Regt., and is stationed at Allanburg. The boys in his detachment are preparing a fine reception for him upon his return to duty, Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy will reside for the present on John Street.
