Full Text

August 11, 1926, was a beautiful summer day, according to Sidney and Dora Bonneville, who chose that date for their wedding 50 years ago. In recent weeks, the couple celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding with a visit to their daughter in Victoria, B.C., and with a surprise celebration at the Senior Citizens' Centre. The couple was visiting their daughter on their anniversary, but on Wednesday, Sept. 1, shortly after their return, their friends at the Senior Citizens' Centre presented them with a cake and a commemorative card, in a short ceremony moments after the evening's bingo games terminated. Mr. and Mrs. Bonneville met in Montreal, which is Mrs. Bonneville's home. Mr. Bonneville was born in Ottawa. The couple married in Montreal, and came to Grimsby 11 years ago. Mr. Bonneville worked as an engineer at Bell Telephone until he retired in 1961. Mrs. Bonneville worked with an orthodontist for 13 years, in Montreal. They have one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Joyce) Ryland in British Columbia and three grandchildren.
