The Township of Saltfleet lost one of its old and respected residents in the death of John Springstead, which occurred at the residence of his nephew, J.E. Monre, of Saginaw, Mich. Deceased was ? years of age, and two months ago went to visit his nephew. He had suffered two paralytic strokes, and shortly after reaching Saginaw, was taken seriously ill. Despite the best of medical attention, death followed. One brother, William, survives. The late Mr. Springstead was well known and esteemed, and his death will occasion much regret. The remains arrived home Saturday and interment took place in Stoney Creek Cemetery.
