The death took place on Thursday evening of Mr. Alexander Lane, at his home in Grimsby, at the age of 45 years and three months. Mr. Lane has been in poor health for the past three years. He spent the winter of 1909 in Florida for his health but it was of no avail ... The deceased gentleman moved to Grimsby from the Township of Gainsboro about eight years ago, and up till the past fall has been one of Grimsby's most successful fruit growers. Mr. Lane is survived by a kind and devoted wife. The funeral took place on Sunday to the Lane Cemetery, at Silverdale (the cemetery being on the old Lane homestead); services being held at the house and grave. There was a large attendance of friends from far and near.
