Another link with the old days of Grimsby district was severed on Monday afternoon, in the passing at his home, 3 Robinson Street South, of George Edward Marlow, in his 85th year. Mr. Marlow was born on the Grimsby Centre road east, the old Marlow homestead, on January 7th, 1862, the son of Peter and Mrs. Marlow. He farmed in North Grimsby for several years when he disposed of his holdings and moved into Grimsby, purchasing a small fruit farm at the head of Robinson Street South which he worked up until his retirement a few years ago. George Marlow was a man of quiet but jovial disposition and had a host of true friends throughout the whole district. He was a Liberal in politics, a member of the Grimsby Baptist Church and a life member of the IOOF. Surviving are his wife, Mary Margaret Boughner, one son, H. Edward, and one granddaughter Marylou Carolyn Marlow, one brother Frank of Buffalo, N.Y., and one sister, Mrs. Alice Henry, Grimsby Beach. Funeral services are being conducted from his late home 3 Robinson Street South, this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
