Full Text

Following a lingering illness there passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, a lifelong resident of the district in the person of Eliza MacGillivray, wife of William Olmsted of Grassies in her 52nd year. She was born in Saltfleet township, being a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Duncan MacGillivray. Surviving her are her husband, two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Earl Hysert, Grassies, Miss Mary Olmsted at home; George Olmsted, Ancaster, and William Olmsted, Buffalo, also three brothers and six sisters, Thomas MacGillivray, Hamilton, George and James MacGillivray, both of the United States, Mrs. Kate Truman, New York, Mrs. Arthur Williams, Fruitland, Mrs. Abe Hand, Winona, Mrs. Archie Richards and Mrs. Andrew Mercer, Hamilton; and Miss Mary MacGillivray, Winona. The remains rested at Stonehouse funeral home until Tuesday at 2:30 when Rev. J.A. Ballard of St. Andrew's Anglican church conducted the funeral service. Interment was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased: Andrew and Abe Hand, George MacGillivray, Harry Mercer, Raymond Truman and Jack Richards.
