The stern realities of a horrible war were brought home to Grimsby citizens more forcibly on Wednesday afternoon...the Independent bulletin announced the death of Lieut. G.A. Russell Ross...Lieut. Ross was the second son of Rev. G. Murray and Mrs. Ross, resident of Grimsby for seven years, Rev. Ross having conducted a bakery here and at different times relieved the pastors of the different churches....[military career outlined] The deceased was born in Glasgow, Scotland 21 years ago, coming to Grimsby with his family a little over 7 years ago, and has resided here every since....His parents who are now residing in Lynedoch, Ontario have the deepest sympathy of the entire community...
