The following letter was received by Mrs. Keweley from Lieut. W.S. Ingraham, telling her how her son, Pte. Wm. Keweley, met his death. Pte. Keweley left Canada with the 36th Battalion, and was in Lieut. Harry Baker's company. He was transferred to the 25th Battlaion after going to England.

Dear Friend: I deeply regret to inform you that during an engagement on Thursday, April 13th, your son William was shot and instantly killed. It was a noble sacrifice. One of the other boys was badly wounded, and your son volunteered to carry him out, and it was in doing this noble act that he was killed...
