Full Text

A 9-year-old boy died April 12, in the General Hospital, Hamilton, of a most virulent type of spinal meningitis. He was Joseph Neil Roberts, of 129 Stanley Avenue, and his death was the first to have occurred this year from the dread malady. Dr. James Roberts, M.O.H., took steps to quarantine members of the family who had contact with the boy.

Officials of the Ontario Department of Health stated that there was "nothing abnormal" either in the occurrence of spinal meningitis at this season of the year, nor in the number of cases that have been reported so far.
