The death occurred on Friday, July 17, 1925, at his home, Ontario Street, of Romand Bernardo. The deceased gentleman had been ill for about four weeks. Mr. Bernardo was of a retiring disposition. He came to these parts to live about six years ago from the Parry sound district, where he had lived for 40 years. He was in his 76th year, and leaves to mourn his loss a loving wife, one son, James, of Grimsby, and 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The services were conducted by the Brethren, of which church the deceased was a member. Bro. W.J. McClure, Los Angeles, Calif., who is visiting in Hamilton and H. Wafburton, Hamilton, spoke at the house and graveside. The pallbearers were H. Burnside, Hamilton; G. Swansea and R. Scott, St. Catharines, and R. Mickoson, Winona. Interment was made at Queens Lawn Cemetery.
