One of Grantham's oldest residents passed to his reward on Wednesday morning in the person of Lewis H. Bessey aged 8? years 4 months. The deceased was a veteran of the Fenian Raid of 1866, and a lifelong Conservative. He had the honour of being the oldest member of the L.O.L. No. 3?? and a few years ago was made an honourary member of this lodge. Besides his many friends, he leaves to mourn his demise a sorrowing widow, one son, Albert W. in Sunnyvale, Calif., and two daughters, Mrs. John Pringle of this city (St. Catharines) and Mrs. Charles Johnston of McNab.
