Full Text

A lovely wedding took place in England on July 8th at Smethwick Old Church, when Nora, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bant of Smethwick was united in marriage to W/O Robert Alldrick, R.C.A.F., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Alldrick of Grimsby, Ontario...The bridesmaids, Meg. Martin and Jean Hower...W/O Jurek Danielewicz was best man, and the groomsman, Stanley Taylor, a cousin of the groom, the ushers were Cyril Rofe and Kenneth Bant...One feature of the day was a three-tiered iced wedding cake, practically unheard of in these days. Another was that seven ex-Prisoners-of-war who were imprisoned with W/O Alldrick, were present for the wedding. The couple were honeymooning at Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire until July 24th, when W/O Alldrick's leave is finished and he will be returned to Canada. Mrs. Alldrick will follow her husband later, when transportation can be arranged.
