A bright young life was ended at the Hamilton General Hospital, on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 29, 1921, when Bertha Elizabeth Mallory, 16 years of age, succumbed to typhoid fever. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mrs. Mallory and had resided in Winona all her life, and was an adherent of St. John's Anglican Church. The body was removed to the home of friends, Mr. and Mrs. Cookson, Bedford Road, Hamilton, and thence was conveyed on Tuesday, Nov. 1 to the Fifty Cemetery for interment. The Rev. H.A. West conducted the services. To mourn her untimely demise are her mother, four brothers, Reginald, Clifford, Edward and Harry, and one sister, Florence. Bertha was the elder daughter and was a student at Grimsby High School where she was a real favorite with her fellow students.
