Full Text

On the 19th day of August, 1922, there assembled at Lake Lodge School, Grimsby, over 300 people of all ages, members of the different branches of the Nelles family in the United States and Canada. This was the second reunion of the family, and it has since become an annual affair. The main building of the school was closely inspected by the great throng as it is the original Nelles house built on that farm in 1811. This week and in succeeding chapters we present in this column the history of the Nelles family as it was prepared and read at that reunion by the historian of the reunion committee. [There follows a lengthy history of the Nelles family in the German Palatinate and the Mohawk Valley in New York State.]
