Married in Hamilton on October 24, 1894, by Rev. John Marsh, Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Piett, North Grimsby township, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the home of their son-in-law, Grimsby mountain, on Sunday October 29. Their bridesmaid, Miss Hannah McDougall (now Mrs. Walter Young of Smithville) and the best man, John W. Jackson, brother of Mrs. Piett, are both living, Mr. Jackson residing at Ochre River, Manitoba. Mr. Piett, 70, is a son of the late Aaron and Sarah Piett, and was born in Caistor. Mrs. Piett, 74, is the former Mary M. Jackson and was also born in Caistor, a daughter of the late John A. and Nancy Jackson. Most of their married life has been spent in North and South Grimsby townships. They are members of the Grimsby Baptist Church, Mr. Piett until recently being a deacon. Six children were born to the union, four of whom are: Walter, of Hamilton; Norman, South Grimsby; Roy, of Grimsby, and Mabel (Mrs. James Lane), Niagara Falls, N.Y. A daughter, Mrs. Grace Lunt, passed away in 1943, and another daughter, Ada, died in infancy. There are 12 grandchildren, three in the armed forces, and three great-grandchildren. Guests were present from Sanborn, N.Y., Carlisle, Grimsby and surrounding district.
