One of the older and well-known residents of Jordan passed away Thursday morning in the person of James Frederick Richardson, after an illness of several months. The late Mr. Richardson was born at West Garafraxa, 87 years ago. Deceased was a well-known retail grocer having conducted a business at Elora for many years. In 1921 he had a hardware store in Grimsby (the Johnson Hardware) and four years later moved to Jordan. He was a member of the United Church and the Canadian Order of Foresters. His wife, Mary Richardson, predeceased him in 1932. He leaves to mourn his passing, one son, Wilfred Richardson, of Jordan; also five brothers and two sisters; Walter of Pomeroy, Wash; David of Boise, Idaho; Elliot of Lewiston, Idaho; Harvey of Roseville, Cal.; Thomas of New Westminster, B.C.; Mrs. James Milne of Elora; and Mrs. Fred Mutrie of Leamington. Interment took place on Sunday afternoon in Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus.
