A death of much interest to the people of this district occurred in Walkerton on Tuesday afternoon, when Frederick B. James, father of Grimsby's well known citizen Frank James, passed away. He was an architect by profession and had erected many public buildings throughout the province. An Englishman by birth, he naturally was an army man. He was a Lieutenant in the last war overseas with the 160th Grey Regt. In this war he was a Major attached to the reserve. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, being a 32nd degree Mason. He was a Past Master of Walkerton Lodge. Deceased had been a very valued citizen of Walkerton and had been highly honored in that town. Besides his sorrowing widow, he leaves four sons, Capt. Trebe of the Scottish Fusiliers at Kitchener; Rev. Charles, Rector of the Anglican Church of St. Thomas; Flight Lieut. Jack, a Padre with the R.C.A.F.; Frank H. of Grimsby, with the Brennan Construction Co.; four daughters, Mrs. Tompkins, London; Mrs. Kain, Walkerton, Mrs. Cunningham, Wheatley and Miss Constance of Toronto.
