The whole Niagara district was deeply shocked on Tuesday afternoon to learn of the sudden demise of Elletta Cline Carpenter, wife of C.W.F.Carpenter, well known fruit grower and insurance broker of Grimsby and Winona...She was a daughter of the late George and Catherine Cline, pioneer family of the district. She had resided in the Grimsby-Winona district all her life and her death occurred in the old Cline homestead. Surviving, besides her husband, is one son Lloyd of Hagerstown, Md., a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Whyte, Ottawa; two brothers, Vance and Col. John in California. Funeral service will be conducted on Friday afternoon, private service being held at the home and a public service in St. Andrew's church. Interment in St.Andrew's cemetery.
